The Fat Cat Becomes the Sunbeam is one of several chapters within In Another Lifetime. In this chapter, we explore the shift from status, power and ego towards joy, freedom and feeling alive.

This experiment began in a green screen studio using cereal boxes wrapped in paper and stamped with a foot.
I used stop motion to animate the miniature city, then transformed the footage for the dome.
The materials were intentionally cheap, quick to make and reusable, showing how simple handmade props can become large scale immersive visuals..
Matching the live performer with repeated versions across the dome worked really well.
The white mask made the character unexpectedly unsettling, which became an interesting test of how costume can shift a movement experience from playful to uncanny.

In Another Lifetime: The Lifetime Inventor
The character who connects the worlds of In Another Lifetime, creating different lives and feelings through bottled potions and spells.
The audience is placed inside the spell itself. Liquids pour overhead, filling the dome with colour, movement and satisfying ASMR sound so it feels as though the potion is falling around you..
Just for Kicks
A proof of concept exploring how movement in the dome could mirror and multiply the movement of a dancer. The poses were inspired by sport and exercise, using strong, strenuous shapes that felt more like working out than traditional dance.
I used a simple floor grid to match body positions with animated patterns across the space.
The next version would develop this with more dancers and more detailed choreography while keeping the playful rules:
